When Konami released Castlevania: Symphony of the Night for the Sony Playstation, it came as a surprise to many. At a time when most video game developers were going crazy over 3D graphics, Konami bucked the trend by continuing their Castlevania franchise with an old-fashioned, 2D platform game. The gamble paid off, and critics and consumers alike were won over by the game’s deep gameplay and moody atmosphere. It comes as no surprise then that Konami has taken this successful formula and transported it to the Game Boy Advance with Castlevania: Circle of the Moon (CotM).
